Amazing close-ups! In the first 2 pictures, what is that round thing at the bottom of the spider? Is it carrying something?

That the spiders abdomen – that species has a large abdomen.

Wow!! I thought it was carrying a mushroom cap to eat, although that sounded highly unlikely.

Great pics, Andy! When i walk around Askum pond, i get lots of these (Argiopes) crawling all over me (including across my face). I got used to them.
