Mum & Dad’s St Nicolas Christmas decoration was brought home by Granddad on the Queen Mary from the Soviet Union in 1960. This special family item is now in our safekeeping. following mum’s death back in September. This tissue paper decoration has great memories linking to my childhood.

It’s a special thing about keeping the old decorations one remembers since childhood.

It’s the memories that connect us to those that have gone before us that matters.

Very nice and very special memories for your family. I am sorry to hear about your mum’s passing Andy or I would have acknowledged it at the time if you mentioned it in your blog, just as I did when your father passed away a few years ago.

Thank you Linda. Not mentioned the loss of mum before. Wishing you all the best over the miles for the festive season.

You’re welcome Andy and I’m glad I didn’t miss an announcement as I felt badly for that. The same to you and yours across the miles as we enter this most festive time of the year.

The Christmas Santa is beautiful and a memory of your parents and childhood. I’m glad it’s in your safekeeping. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your mother this autumn.
