I’m up with the light today and taking a walk up the Hamble River. I have good views of Dunlin, a small wader similar to Sanderlings. The Sanderlings favour the sandy beach at Meonshore, whereas the Dunlin like the mud to feed in the tidal river.

They are pretty birds. I was enjoying the early light, especially because we are finally having some decent weather, but we had to change to Daylight Saving Time and it’s a late sunrise now.

And it’s good to see Spring after a gray and gloomy Winter. A fellow blogger from Ireland said their Daffodils are up already.
