Back in June we found this New Forest Pool a mile or so from the road and enjoyed a few hours photographing and watching dragonflies.
Posted a couple of views back then.

We walked back there this morning. The same pond a month later. After our heat wave.

I hear sometimes subsurface formations show themselves during these heat events Andy. Last year I recall somebody flying over a area noticed shapes in a field, which turned out to be significant archaeological finds!
For instance, did you notice the old fence line and pathway in your shot. I also suspect those large stones were laid there on purpose as well?

The stones were stepping stones when wet. I was only saying yesterday that there will be seeing some intresting field patterns and historical finds. Early in the week saw an artical where a formal garden outline was seen from the air at a statley home.

I have only seen two dragonflies this Summer, despite all the marshy treks I’ve taken … I am hoping ours are not going the way of the Monarch butterflies.
