What is odd about Mandarin ducks? They nest in trees often high above the water. Two drakes spotted today but no female ! not even up in the trees so they must be well camouflaged.

The Mallards on the pond were not amused!

I’m always impressed with the males plumage! Are they a non-indigenous bird?

Beautiful – I’d be happy to see a Wood Duck here (it is on my “Birdie Bucket List”) but I’d be over he moon to see this one – wow! The Mandarin Ducks are beautiful. The Mallards are really jealous but laughing it off. 🙂
