When I grow up – I will be like Dad. A young Fallow Deer buck and an adult. On most walks in the New Forest once you get away from people on mountain bikes and dog walkers – walk quietly through the enclosures and across the moorland of the National Park rarely do I not see some deer.

Still has spots and already sporting bumps which will be antlers – surprises me. Perhaps they (the Roe deer fawns) mature faster than our White-tailed deer as I had a recent post where the bumps were barely noticeable, but the spots appeared to be long gone.

These are Fallow Deer – Linda I think the spots show on this youngster as he was very pale others I saw you could not see the spots he is going to grow up to a good looker.

OK, I see Andy – I was surprised that it had such pronounced antlers already. We don’t have the Roe or Fallow deer here in Michigan, just the white-tailed deer. Yours look quite different than ours.
