Me too Andy. We had a wild turkey in a neighboring county and after school started up, the turkey would escape its cage and go out in the middle of the street where people were dropping off their kids. The parents were in a hurry to get to work and had to stop while the turkey meandered about. They called the news station who did a feature on it and the owner of the turkey had no idea it was out in the middle of the street playing “chicken” with the cars. She has put a better fastener on her pet turkey’s cage since.
I am glad your people take care. I read something sad today. I follow the Michigan Duck Rescue and Sanctuary on Facebook – Matt and his wife and volunteers rescue injured waterfowl of all kinds, re-home them in their barn and they have a big pond. He posted that witnesses saw a man run over a flock of six Canada Geese crossing a road and killed all of them while horrified drivers stopped on the other side witnessed it. Very sad that people would do such a thing.
