I’ve read that reindeer herders would drink the Reindeer urine to get high!
It appears reindeer search out Fly Agaric to get high. This article explains a bit about the reindeer.

For those curious, the Reindeer eat amanita mushrooms and trip out. They then urinate and in some places their urine is collected to make muscimol, which is a safer way for humans to get high on the amanita muscaria. The reindeer filter most of the toxins out.

That’s the most fascinating thing I’ve heard in a very long time. It might explain how Reindeer are able to fly Santa Claus all over the world on Christmas Eve!

We never have those red mushrooms with spots on them, so I’m always fascinated when you spotlight them Andy. We have boring fungi compared to your finds.

They are great to see the place in the Ned Forest where I see them seem to have more and more there each year,
