Turnstone turn stones looking for food – they spend most of their time walking on the shore and climbing over rocks, picking out food from under stones & seaweeds
I had no idea – never heard of a Turnstone. Fun to watch it at work. I do appreciate the descriptive quality of its name!

I think they are found in up in Canada known as Ruddy Turnstones they are nice little birds

I think I’ve said the same in the past as Rebecca did – turning over stones in search of food … a perfect name! For a minute I thought those were oyster crackers and they were light-colored rocks.
